Gary Reis

In Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Gary Reis works as president of Triton Fleet Services; Med Tech, Inc.; and Med Tech Ambulance Service. In his spare time, Gary Reis enjoys golfing and maintains membership with the Rhode Island Golf Association (RIGA).

A nonprofit organization founded in 1902, the RIGA promotes and preserves the game of golf within the state of Rhode Island. The organization began with 19 founding member clubs, and today it represents 49 private and public clubs and courses. In 2013, the RIGA merged with the Rhode Island Women’s Golf Association, so now the RIGA represents all Rhode Island golfers, regardless of gender. For the 2016 golf season, the RIGA conducts more than 40 men’s and women’s championship events.

One of the 2016 tournaments sponsored by the RIGA is the 95th Junior Amateur Championship, scheduled for August 1-4. Occurring at the Pawtucket Country Club, this event is available to RIGA male or female junior members and caddies or full-time residents of Rhode Island who will not be 18 by August 1. The first day of the tournament features an 18-hole stroke play qualifier followed by three days of 18-hole match play. Participants must wear proper golf attire, such as collared shirt alongside slacks or knee-length shorts
